"This past spring I injured my back and was totally out of commission.  I could not go to work or do anything really.  I had dealt with injuries before but this was not going away I had no idea what to do.  When I met with Braxton I explained what my issue was and what I thought needed to be done about it....he very nicely told me that he could help and that I should stay off google for the time being because what I thought was helping was actually hurting.  In my case I had lower back pain but it was a symptom of other problems in the upper back and hip area.  Braxton thoughtfully and methodically helped me get out of pain and has continued to work with me on better flexibility and strengthening of muscles.  I now have a real understanding of how to prevent this type of injury in the future.  Thank you!" - Christian

"I am so incredibly grateful to have been working with Braxton Rose for the past few months. As a dancer for 20+ yrs, my body had changed since tearing my adductor years ago and I've had different hip related injuries since then. Most recently I had spent months in physio treating 1 hip impingement but in the process, suffered another hip impingement (now on the other side). Walking, sitting, lying, dancing and twisting hurt. The restrictions made me fearful to dance and move freely, as I always seemed to be injuring myself. I wasn't really sure what to do. Thanks to yoga I met Braxton and was introduced to this method of healing through postural alignment. YASS FINALLLLLLLY!! At this point I'm so psyched something like this exists! Not just a bandaid for an injury, but an investigation into the WHY and HOW these injuries keep occurring, while overcoming pain in such a short amount of time ...is simply amazing. The cherry on the cake is actually learning what exercises help and why, so you can better HELP YOSELF down the road when your body is out of line.  I wouldn't have had this experience without Braxton. His yoga background, anatomical expertise and warmth as a teacher made me trust him instantly. Right away I felt genuine care from him and a passion for healing others. He was very easy to work with over facetime and has taught me so much that once had been counter intuitive to what I had thought would help. I went from not being able to sit cross legged due to sharp hip pain to dancing freely again. My back has doubled in flexibility (surprising bonus!) and I have more stability and flexibility coming back in my hips. I walk differently. I stand up straight and my core is more engaged. All in a few months work :-)Braxton has been such a joy to work with and has checked in with me every few days to to hear about my progress. I love this tailor made approach and honestly I've never worked with someone who cares this much. I can't express how much I appreciate it and hope anyone reading this decides to invest in their well-being with this method lead by Braxton. Get to the root of your pain and kiss it good bye. It's so worth it!" -Kaiti , NYC

"I injured my back six years ago.  For the past the six years, I've treated my back pain with consistent physical therapy and yoga and was able to minimize my back pain but had daily discomfort.  Braxton analyzed the focal point of my pain and my posture then gave me a series of daily exercises to align my spine and muscles.  After just a few days doing the exercises, I was able to enjoy my first pain free days in six years!  Braxton is knowledgable, professional and really listens to you.  He is dedicated to understanding how you're feeling and how your body moves to help you feel better.  He followed up after the first few days to find out how I was doing.  I highly recommend you see Braxton and try the Egoscue Method! I met with Braxton after my doctor suggested PT for sciatica, which was negatively affecting my day to day life. I considered PT but had heard several success stories about the work Braxton was doing, so I made an appointment. His knowledge and expertise was exceptional. At our first meeting, he assessed my injury and provided me with a list of exercises that could alleviate my pain. And it worked. In the end, the pain went away. There was this, though: I had to DO the work. Braxton checked in to keep track of my progress and to make sure I was doing the exercises properly. We had a friendly and impromptu “team meeting” early on, when I wasn’t quite feeling better and he reiterated what needed to be done and that I was in charge of doing it. (In other words, I was totally slacking and I needed to deal.) I was surprised at how effectively the exercises realigned what was apparently misaligned in my body…and in such a short amount of time. The entire process took only a couple of weeks—maybe 2 at most—which seems unbelievable to me now. It was incredible how the seemingly simple exercises (the entire routine took about 10 minutes each day) adjusted my body in a way that eradicated the issue. What might have become a debilitating problem was addressed head-on….and quite quickly. Now, I’m pain free.  I guess the bottom line is this: Trust the process. It works.  And this: Thanks Braxton. -Erin

“Braxton Rose is a magnet. He listens, he offers guidance, and most importantly he uses a thoughtful and well rounded approach to help me get more out of my body and health. Traditional trainings and therapies are rigid in their framework and lack the focused attention and softness that allows me to feel my best. Braxton is like a detective, searching my body , giving me clues as how I can get stronger, more at ease, and feel less restricted as I age. I wouldn’t spend my time or money anywhere else” -Rob

About two years ago, I thought my lifetime passion for running and yoga was destroyed. I had long suffered from sciatic pain, that was worsening and at one point, made my body feel almost immobile. I regularly went to physical therapy and called upon my doctor, who eventually recommended an MRI, and prescribed steroids to relieve my “pain,” but did little to nothing to resolve the problem itself.  Additionally, though I religiously followed the exercises recommended by PT, the same problems and pain kept coming back. The nerve pain was excruciating, keeping me up almost nightly and making it difficult to sit for any long period of time. I continued to see Braxton at my yoga classes and he gently suggested his practice and the use of postural therapy as an alternative several times.
Though I greatly respected him as a yoga teacher, I had never heard of this treatment, and was hesitant to abandon more “westernized” or traditional forms of treatment, through PT, medical tests, and/or use of steroids/cortizone shots. Eventually, my leg was so cramped and painful, I could barely walk and my yoga practice was also becoming harder and greatly compromised. I was terrified that this was “it” and that I would have to give up running and yoga for good. At that point, I was desperate and decided to give Postural Therapy a try. Braxton was so confident that he could help, that he even offered to give me my money back if there wasn’t improvement. At that point, I was spending at least $100 per week in co-payments for PT and prescription drugs, so it made sense to see him for what eventually turned far fewer and more affordable visits. Braxton’s approach was immediately different. He assessed my whole body alignment in a way my physical therapist or doctor never did. He identified several issues, only some of which had been diagnosed in the past two years before I saw him. He spent an hour alternating different exercises to target several areas of my body that were essentially out of alignment and causing the pain. Literally, after meeting with him only one time, within a couple days, the pain was mostly alleviated, and  2 years of pain eventually disappeared. Since then, I have had  two other issues (which is also normal as I near 50 and live a very athletic life), the most recent of which was pain in my foot.  I immediately assumed it was planters fascitis and started Googling a million causes and treatment. I again panicked that I could no longer run, and called Braxton. This was during the virus, so our visit was virtual, but again, he assessed several other issues, and changed my exercise “menu” to incorporate new exercises to relieve the foot pain within a couple days.  Unlike traditional forms of treatment,  Braxton skillfully and miraculously finds ways to adjust one’s body alignment by targeting all areas of the body as a more immediate approach to eliminating pain and producing  long term results, without repeated visits to a doctor, PT, or reliance on pain relieving drugs.  I am forever grateful to Braxton for helping me resume my favorite activities and relieving pain that for two years, was making life very unbearable. I also saved a lot of money in doctor/PT visits and never became dependent on drugs.  I really want to emphasize, however, that part of the reason I think Braxton’s approach was successful, was because I was consistent with his recommended exercise menu, and have dedicated this extra time into my schedule everyday.  He has assured me this is essential to recovery,  and because I am so passionate about living an athletic life without pain, I make that sacrifice. I have developed great trust in Braxton and know that he will modify my routine as needed and help me normalize my life around exercise. I am so grateful for that fateful day when I finally said “yes” and started postural therapy as an alternative form of treatment. - Anne
